Rotary Dialer brings back old times on Nokia N9
I’ve always loved rotary phones, and that’s why I’ve released an old-fashioned Rotary Dialer app for Nokia N9 / N950 devices.
You can download the app from the Nokia Store.

I’ve recently released a new game for Nokia Touch and Type devices: The Big Map Quest.
The game uses Nokia Maps to let the player travel around the world, trying to guess where historical locations, country capital cities and other famous places are located. The features of this first release include:
Check out the video below to see the game in action.
The game is available for free on Nokia Store.
I’ve just released a new app for Nokia N9: The Football App.
The Football App features the major European soccer leagues, including:
For each league, the app allows to view live match results with complete scorers and lineups information, standings and top scorers.
You can download The Football App from Nokia Store.
will this be avaible for symbian3???
Hi ardit,
a Symbian^3 version of The Football App is currently not planned.
Anyway, I’ve released other soccer apps that are compatible with Symbian^3 devices, check them out here: http://store.ovi.com/publisher/Jappit/
Nokia Store, says there’s now a version for Belle. Is there any possibility of adding more leagues? Mainly the english one’s but this would be a very good app, a must have if there was more leagues
Hi William,
I’m working to add more leagues, hope to release an updated version asap!
Would you consider adding a feature which would allow us to select our favorite side. (for convenience/quick use) but would also allow us to add filters so we can keep tabs on other scores, especially one match day. I think this would be very beneficial, as those in any position using the app would find it useful. If your challenging for the title you’d be able to keep an eye on how the others nearby are doing without having to view all, same goes for those who like multiple teams or worried about the relegation drop)
Very visually pleasing app from the screenshots!
Cheers!
Hi, would you consider adding in your next update some of these ideas:
in the results tab, an indicator for each game result would be great -> if the score is a full time score (“FT” icon above the date for example), if the game is still being played (“Live” icon), and if the game hasn’t started (no icon).
auto refresh feature if the user is following a certain game (with the possibility of choosing the refresh rate).
if the app is opened on a specific game, a sound or vibration notification (or both) if a goal is scored.
Choosing a different league by just tapping on the name of the league on the top of the app (the same way we choose a different match day) rather than clicking on the bottom right icon.
Euro 2012 section.
Thank you for the great app
Thank you for your suggestions Paul! I’ve already finished adding an indicator for each game, will be available in the next update that should be on the Nokia Store in the next week.
As for the other features, they’re all useful and will try to implement them asap.
some great feature suggestions. both williams and pauls, would make this app even better than ehat it already is. Pit; when do you think more leagues could be added out of interest, if i buy now would i recieve feature additions in the future and please match the grsphic ui/layout as it appears above. Looks coo
Sorry about the spelling mistakes.
Hi Dan,
adding more leagues is definitely one of the things I’m working on, can’t say a date but will surely pull out an update with more leagues asap. As for the UI, if you refer to the Symbian version, it closely matches the platform style, by using Qt components: this is the main reason for the UI differences with the MeeGo version.
sorry i should proof read what i type. I mean’t if i bought your app, would i still receive updates which include extra features or would it be general fixes and improvements of a small nature? Regarding ui, it looks like the buttons are at the top for sym 3 version. I should waited, looking forward to using it.
Hi, thanks for your good app. BTW, When I used this to see La Liga results, it was not up to date. I opened it on May 14th, and it only showed result for May 12th matches (May 13th matches still 0-0). Is this a bug? I hope you can also add feature to store results or league table in offline mode in the future release (just keep the latest results to reduce memory usage).
Any planned updates for the european championships? It doesn’t look likely but hoping.
I’m happy to announce that I am one of the winners of the Series 40 Java and Web App Competition competition recently held by the Nokia Developer community.
From the competition page:
Using the PositioningManager from Java ME Location API by Alessandro La Rosa (jappit). This wiki article explains how to use the PositioningManager from the Ovi Maps Java ME Location API to get information about the device location. Alessandro contributed a number of articles and a project; while this was our favourite, they are all very well written and provide an excellent insight into how to use the Java Location API:
Thank you Nokia Developer!
CONGRATS!!!
Grazie Leo
Congratulations
Thank you Kiran!
Congratulations! I came here from your stripes website!
Thank you Said!
congrats!.. some nice apps where developed there.
Thank you Manuel! You’re right, developers created some cool open source projects
Congratulations!
Hey Pit,
Congratulations!!
I have a question: The Java ME Location API has been made private. Any idea why?
Today I’d like to present a new open source Java ME project recently published on Nokia Developer Projects.
Run Tracker is a simple Java ME app that allows to track and record various parameters of running activities, including route, distance, duration and speed of each run.
The complete source code is available, and shows how to use some of the Java ME Location API features to integrate Ovi Maps mapping and positioning features in a MIDlet.
Check it out, and let me know your thoughts about it.
I discovered your app recently but i’ve got some problem to connect to gps, than i can’t run with the app.
My phone is nokia c2-02, than i’ve got the maps’ nokia app that has gps incorporated (or not?); maybe I don’t know how to acticavate it… can you help me?
Today I’d like to present an article that closes the first part of tutorials about the Ovi Maps Java ME Location API.
When displaying a map in a Java ME application, it can be useful to be able to intercept events generated by the interaction of the user with the map itself, and the MapComponent and EventListener interfaces give complete support for keyboard and touch-based events.
Check out the full article, showing how touch events can be used to add markers to a map, and let me know your comments: Handling map events with Java ME Location API.
